Will insurance cover Home Care services?

Medicare and traditional health insurance policies generally do not pay for private duty home care. Generally our clients pay privately for care. However, long term care insurance does cover Home Care expenses and we can help you through the qualifying process. We can also help you with the process of qualifying for Veterans based Home Care benefits.

Do you ask for a deposit and how often do you invoice?

Prior to the start of services we will ask for a Client Deposit in the amount of two weeks' of service. This Client Deposit is held in a dedicated account and refunded at the end of services or applied to the last invoice. From that point on you will receive invoices every two weeks based on the previous two weeks of service.

How soon can Atlantic Homelife services begin?

Atlantic Homelife understands that sometimes care is required quickly. We do everything we can to get services up and running as soon as possible. We have been known to have services set up in a matter of hours, but this is not always possible.

Can we change our schedule if we need to?

Yes! We understand that needs change and we do our best to be as flexible as possible.

Are Atlantic Homelife caregivers insured?

All our caregivers are employees of the company and are fully insured with both professional and generally liability insurance. In addition, Atlantic Homelife pays all workman compensation insurance and all applicable employment taxes.

What kind of training is provided to your caregivers?

Atlantic Homelife hires only licensed nursing assistants and certified personal care attendants. They receive initial and ongoing training and supervision by our team of registered nurses.

Will it always be the same caregiver coming to the home?

Our goal is to have consistent and familiar caregivers for our clients. The more consistent the schedule, the easier it is to accomplish this goal. There may be times that it is necessary to send a new caregiver but we will always notify the family of this beforehand.

What if the caregiver is not a good match?

Atlantic Homelife understands the importance of a good caregiver-client match. Not all people work well together. Please let us know if you are not satisfied for any reason with the caregiver sent to your home. Every effort will be made to find the best match!

Do I have to sign a contract for services?

No, there are no lengthy contracts. We understand that things can change rapidly in senior home care. We ask only that you give us 48 hours notification of cancellation of services.
